A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Ariel

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. Our seventh wish went to Ariel, who's family has been hit by curve ball after curve ball in 2018.

At the beginning of the year, Ariel and her family could never have predicted what 2018 had planned for them.  It's been hard for friends like Shelby to sit back and watch such a kind, caring person take hit after hit and that's why she nominated her for a Christmas Wish.

Earlier this year, Ariel, her husband and their three little boys moved into a brand new home.  It should've have been an exciting time of new beginnings but not long after they moved in a fire broke out in the house. It was a total loss and they weren't able to save any of their belongings.

Flash forward to the holiday season and another curve ball.  Ariel's always been very close to her grandad who played a huge role in raising her as a child.  He passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery last week.  Just days later, her mom went into the hospital and is still there fighting pneumonia.

It's obvious to see why this family might have a hard time getting in the holiday spirit this year.  What's even more heartbreaking is that the little boys are young enough that they don't entirely understand what's happening. It took a few days for the aftermath of the fire to hit them when they realized how much they missed the toys they lost in the blaze. Those little boys deserve a great Christmas this year and so do their parents that have helped keep everything together.

So LITE-FM came to help make the holidays a little brighter! Jeff Connell piled into our Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh and surprised Ariel with a family pass for Winter Garden aGlow, dinner for the family from Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill and lunch from our friends at Soup Kettle Grill in Meridian. We also wanted to help mom and dad replace some of those toys for their little ones, so they received a Walmart gift card to do some shopping with.  Finally, we wanted to give Ariel a few moments to exhale and relax so we arranged a massage for her!
