were talking about Emery, my grandson spending 3 hours on the tractor mowing the yards yesterday.  Yes I said yards.  We have about two and a half acres of grass and yesterday we mowed it for the first time this year.  It was also the earliest I've ever mowed and M (Emery) was there with me the whole time.

M got up from his nap just about the time I was starting to mow. So Brenda made him a peanut butter butter sandwich which was cut into 4 pieces and put in a little tupperware bowl.  He climbed up in my lap, put his drink cup in the cup holder and we were off.  We had to stop once to fix a piece on the mower, so he got off and did his best supervisor all the while slowly munching on his lunch.

We were almost done mowing when Brenda headed off to zumba, so she stopped and got some pictures of us and a brief video.  Even when Mom and Dad arrived home, he didn't waver from his mowing chores....Well mowing and eating.

When we were done mowing I had to finish barn chores, so I put him inside the back door and called to my son to get him.  There was an immediate pout, especially when he saw the neighbor girl (Kelsey) actually driving the tractor, helping me finish barn chores about 20 minutes later.  I have an agreement, if she helps clean stalls, I will teach her how to ride. She heads over and helps even if she doesn't ride that day.

I didn't think about it until I went into the house and was told how M was watching Kelsey drive the tractor to get the rest of the trash.  His dad said he looked out the window and just hung his head.  I'm gonna have to take him on a french fry run to make up.

Don't worry M, soon enough I will be handing mowing over to you, just as soon as your feet reach the pedals. It's a shame all kids can't have moments like these.
