If you're a bride-to-be and you've attended one of the gazillion wedding expos in the Treasure Valley, you may leave feeling overwhelmed and wanting to elope.

You're not alone! My fiance and I went to one right after we got engaged in February.  The more pamphlets I got handed and the more pricing information I heard, the more and more freaked out I got about how much my wedding is actually going to cost.  I expected the day to just be a fun day to start getting some ideas for what the big day might look like.  Instead I was asked what are theme was, what designers I was considering for my dress, if I was going to wear my hair up or down...and what did I do? I just stared blankly at the vendors because I'd engaged for all of three weeks.  And since I felt bad I was dragging my fiance to something he rather not have been at, I paid for his admission to the show too...so I was out $40 and left rather disappointed.  I thought wedding shows were supposed to be fun, right?!

EXACTLY! And that's why my friend Marcela at I Love Boise Weddings has put together the Idaho Runaway Bride Fun Run/Girls Day Out Vendor Show this weekend at Kleiner Park in Meridian! Its on Saturday, October 14th at 10 a.m.  What's so different about this show?

Admission Price:  There isn't one! The event benefits the Boise Rescue Mission's women's shelter, City Light so instead on collecting an admission "fee" they're asking you to bring a donation for the shelter instead.  Those donations can include canned food, clothing for babies, toddlers, children and women, toiletry items, bedding supplies, toys, etc.

Fun Run: This isn't a 5K where you're going for a PR or hit a number of steps for the day! It's about stopping at the vendors along the 2K (.75 miles) to conquer their obstacle or collect a certain item from them! Some of those stations include cake sampling, collecting lollipop rings, hopping through a tire obstacle course to get sweating for the wedding and taking a fun selfie with your bride tribe before our friends from Fleet Feet shower you with rose petals at the finish line.

Raffle, raffle, raffle:  Brides-to-be have a chance to take home some really fun prizes from the vendors, including fitness classes to help you get into shape for your big day! (There's a full blown bridal show after the fun run!)

...AND MORE!

At least one of my bridesmaids and I will be there on Saturday and I'd love to see you there!  Share this with a friend who's getting married so we can all run together!
