
Cause Revealed: 7 Killed in Fiery Idaho Crash Near Yellowstone National Park
A recent accident on an Idaho highway near Yellowstone National Park killed 7 people.
Two vehicles caught fire in the crash, and determining the cause of the accident and the identities of the victims has been slow work for authorities, as 6 of the victims were tourists from other countries.

The accident happened over the first weekend of May, as a tour van was headed to Yellowstone National Park. There were 14 people in the tour bus and 1 person the the other vehicle involved in the crash.
Authorities have now partially determined what they believe to have caused the accident. A ‘crash reconstruction is ongoing’ to determine all contributing factors.
They believe the tour van, a Mercedes passenger van, was hit by a pickup truck, a Dodge Ram, that crossed the center line on US Highway 20 near Henry’s Lake.
The crash reconstruction will help authorities determine what caused the pickup truck to cross the line and cause the deadly accident.

Idaho State Police are investigating the crash, as is the National Transportation Safety Board.
ISP Reveals Nationalities of Tourists Killed in Crash Near Yellowstone
Among the 7 killed in the accident were the driver of the pickup truck, a 25-year-old male from Texas, and 6 occupants of the tour bus. The nationalities of each victim have not been released, but among the 14 people in the vehicle, the driver was licensed in California, 12 were from China, and one came from Italy.
The latest ISP report states that more information will be provided as it is verified and deemed appropriate for public release.
