
Juvenile Passenger Dead After Vehicle Fire in Idaho Adult Driver Seriously Injured
A vehicle fire over the weekend in Idaho left a juvenile passenger dead and an adult driver in the hospital with serious injuries.
Idaho State Police say the incident happened on August 24th at 1:12 in the afternoon on Reeds Creek Road in Benewah County.
The police report doesn’t specify whether the vehicle crashed and caught fire, or if it was an ATV or a passenger vehicle. There were three people reportedly in the vehicle when it caught fire, one adult and two juveniles.
Juvenile Killed in Vehicle Fire Over the Weekend in Idaho
The adult driver is from St. Maries, was a 60-year-old male who was taken by Life Flight to a local hospital with serious injuries. A young passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the vehicle fire, and a second juvenile passenger was released to a responsible adult and didn’t report having any injuries.
The road was closed for about 4 hours due to the vehicle fire and emergency response. The cause of the vehicle fire is under investigation by ISP.

Another fatal accident was reported by the Idaho State Police early Monday morning.
A male driver had crashed on Interstate 84 about 40 miles north of the Utah border. He exited his vehicle and was struck and killed by a semi-truck while standing in an eastbound lane of travel.
Idaho State Police are investigating what caused the initial accident to understand why the male driver crashed and the fatal accident that followed.
