While a lot of families are getting together for the holidays this year, the community and family of Michael Vaughan continue to hold their breath as the search continues for the now 6-year-old. It’s heartbreaking to think about and as a fellow parent, I can’t begin to imagine the pain, suffering, and agony this family is experiencing. A feeling that I imagine is amplified to a painful degree this time of year.

As Idaho News 6 reported, authorities took Sarah Wondra into custody after discovering that she failed to report Vaughan’s disappearance after he went missing in Fruitland back in July of 2021. Authorities continue to investigate Wondra’s property and all of us are waiting to see what that investigation produces.

While a lot of us parents will be celebrating the holiday season with our loved ones, sharing hearty meals together, and opening presents together on Christmas morning, the Vaughan family will be remembering and thinking of Michael.

Recently, thanks to a post from popular local news anchor, Maggie O’Mara, I came across the Amazon holiday wish list for Michael Vaughan’s family this year.

It’s heartwarming to see a community rally like this to support the Vaughan family during the holiday season and further proof that Michael continues to inspire all of us to be the best version of ourselves. Items on the wishlist range from clothes to gift cards to wrapping paper. You can check out a few of the items on that list below and find the list here.
