A Year-By-Year Look At Boise’s 0-8 Record in the NCAA Tournament

March Madness is here and the Treasure Valley has its eyes set on our beloved Boise State Broncos. The Broncos finished the season at 24-9 and are set to face Northwestern on Thursday (3/16).

The Boise State Broncos take on the Northwestern Wildcats at 5:35 PM on Thursday and will be looking to break a streak that dates back to 1972.

The Broncos have lost every time they've competed in the NCAA tournament and unfortunately, some of those losses were painfully close. The Broncos have had an exciting season up to this point and to make a mark during March Madness would be amazing. It's long overdue and hopefully, our Boise State Broncos can pull off a win against the Northwestern Wildcats.

Let's take a look at the last eight times Boise State men's basketball came up short in the NCAA tournament.

While Boise State has come up short in the tournament, that doesn't mean they haven't produced NBA-quality talent. As a matter of fact, you may recognize the name Chris Childs from the 1988 game versus Michigan. He not only made it to the NBA... but he managed to punch the late great Kobe Bryant in the face.

There's also Coby Karl who played for the Los Angeles Lakers. I don't know about you, but I would rather be known for being the son of a legendary NBA coach (Karl) than known for punching an NBA legend in the face.
