Final 2024 Election Results for All 110 Idaho Races

The outcome of the 2024 Presidential election surprised many nationwide; however, in Idaho, a Trump victory was never in doubt. The questions answered in the Gem State had more to do with ballot measures and legislative races.

Most of the votes have been counted and reported; the results of the 110 races and ballot measures are below. The overwhelming majority of Republican candidates won their races against the Democrats, which isn't that much of a surprise in a state as red as Idaho.

While the Republicans took both House seats for the state in landslide victories, some races were much more interesting. One is District 6 (Latah and Lewis counties), where Dan Foreman squeaked a win over Democrat Julia Parker. In Ada County, Democratic incumbent Rick Just lost his seat to Codi Galloway, returning the position to the Republicans, who had owned that seat outside of the last two years since 1992.

Former 17th District Senator Ali Rabe, who moved into the 16th District towards the end of her last term, was able to secure District 17 (Ada County) for the Democrats, easily defeating Republican Doug Rich. Carrie Semmelroth, who succeeded Rabe in District 16 (also Ada County), retained her spot, keeping this seat blue, as it has been since 2002. Janie Ward-Engelking retained her spot for the Democrats in District 18 (Ada County), a seat she has held since the end of 2013.

The closest race of the night was in District 15 (Ada County), where Democrat Steve Berch retained his State House seat, winning by 1% over Republican Annette Tipton. This close nature of the vote could prompt Tipton to ask for a recount. Berch is the only Democrat to have held this seat since 1992.

Ballot measures are what brought many people to the polls in Idaho, and both measures had overwhelming outcomes. Amendment HJR5, which would amend Section 2, Article VI of the state constitution to state that non-US citizens could not participate in any Idaho elections, passed with nearly 65% of the vote.

Proposition One, which was to replace voter selection of party nominees with a top-four primary and require a ranked-choice voting system for general elections, failed, with the "no" vote getting nearly 70%.
