A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Eva

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. Our eighth wish went to Eva, a mom who's dealing with quite a few health problems in the family and had the scariest day of her life just a few weeks ago.

Cheryl reached out to tell us about a friend and co-worker who she looks up to because despite all the challenges this family is facing, Eva handles every day with strength, grace and continues to make a difference in her community.

A few months ago, Eva's two year-old middle child was involved in an accident where she was hit my a moving vehicle.  Eva was quick to tell us that as a mother, it was the scariest day of her life. The family is so thankful that she's recovering from the accident and is still here to celebrate Christmas with them.

They're hoping that another family member is still with them come December 25.  Eva's dad has been battling bone cancer and is now going through radiation treatment daily to deal with the pain.  Doctors are calling the treatment the "end stage" in his battle with cancer. While her dad's going through radiation, he's also pitching in as much as he can to help Eva's mom care for Eva's ailing grandmother who's moved in with them.

Eva's two other children face health challenges of their own and her husband is a disabled veteran dealing with PTSD as he works part-time and is going to school to help better himself and the family. That's A LOT going on for one family at anytime of the year, but at the holidays we thought they deserved a break and a chance to celebrate being together during the holidays.

So Jeff Connell piled into our Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh and surprised Eva with a family pass for Winter Garden aGlow, dinner for the family from Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill, $100 grocery gift card so that the family can make some holiday dinners and Christmas cookies together and a gas card to help fill-up the tank as  Finally, we know that having three little ones under the age of 10, they're out growing their clothes quickly so we gave Eva a Kohl's gift card to help buy them some new outfits for the holidays.
