It's considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in world and it's taller than Niagara Falls. As a matter of fact it's even called the Niagara of the west and it's a short drive from Boise, and right now it really is a winter wonderland.

Normally this is not the peak season for Shoshone Falls...it's usually just a trickle, maybe a few hundred cfps flow of water...but right now the falls are running over 5300 cfps and it's giving us a rare opportunity to see how beautiful the falls are in winter with snow and freezing temperatures.

It's a very easy trip from Boise....Located just outside of Twin Falls, it will take a little over two hours to get there. Before making the drive you want to make sure that you won't be disappointed by the water flow which could change at any time, so just click on the link below and see a live cam view of the falls to make sure it continues to flow well, plus you get a map from Boise to Shoshone Falls too.
