Something looked a little off when I pulled into The Village for my Wednesday night run.

I've been going to Fleet Feet Meridian's "Village on the Run" on Wednesday nights for almost two years now and getting there is always a comedy of errors.  I live in Southeast Boise and with the run starting at 6 p.m. in Meridian, I'm still trying to figure out the perfect time to leave my apartment to avoid the traffic mess at the Flying Y every week. Then once I get to the Village? Forget me trying to parallel park inside the Village. I'm awful at it, so I always park in the big lot facing Fairview.

When I pulled in, I noticed that Corner Bakery was totally dark and thought to myself "what gives?" I was early enough to walk over and check out what was going on.  I found this sign on the door.

I jumped online while we were eating dinner after the run to try and find out why.  There's no explanation, but our friend Hugh Crawford (GM at the Village) told the Idaho Statesman that it would not be reopening.

Feast Foods LLC hold the franchise for Corner Bakery and they haven't spoken up about the closure or if they plan to open elsewhere in the Treasure Valley.

There's no current plans for another tenant for the spot right now.  What would you like to see move into The Village?
