It is officially hot again here in the Treasure Valley. My sweet tooth is craving something chilly and creamy. So where is the best ice cream spot in Boise and beyond?
June marks the official start of Summer. Some say Summer begins on June 1st, and others say it officially begins on June 21st, but either way, it’s officially summertime now and you know what that means... more ice cream!
Some will love it, some will hate it, and those who hate it are probably lying… Today is International NO DIET Day! National Today says, “Mashed potatoes? Yes. Brownies? Absolutely. Lasagna? Sign us up! On International No Diet Day anything goes — and there’s no shame associated with eating what you want. Of course, we appreciate International No Diet Day for its body positivity and self-acceptance, but we also appreciate some good cheese fries.”
These things were big, bright, fun, beautiful to look at and unbelievably delicious. According to the signage, Smallcakes has the BEST cupcakes, and Ice Cream in Idaho and been featured on the Food Network.
There's nothing a good scoop of ice cream can't fix. Bad day at work? Have some ice cream. It's going to be over 100º for at least 11 days? Have ALL the ice cream!
First, the free pancakes at IHOP were canceled, and now this! Dairy Queen won't be giving out free ice cream next month and we have the pandemic to blame.
It's never too cold for ice cream. We might eat it by the cozy fire during the winter months, but it's still top comfort food, and Boise is picking one unique flavor over all the rest.
