Should smoking and vaping be banned in parks around the Treasure Valley?  One small Idaho city has decided that should be the case and other areas may follow suit.

So what would you think?  Are public parks a place where smoking and/or vaping should be prohibited?

The Idaho town of St. Anthony has decided to do just that in their public parks.  The City Council approved the proposal last week and officials will be setting up a structure for fine amounts when people are caught violating the new rules.  Those rules are already in effect.

Officials say they do plan to install signs that would urge park patrons to stop smoking or vaping.  Smokeless tobacco is not included in the ordinance.  This isn't brand new for the city though, as smoking was already prohibited in parks.

The Rexburg Standard Journal has more on the expanded rules.
