Can you feel it? The hotels are filling up, there are more people walking through downtown and it's tougher to get a table at restaurants. For the next few weekends, Boise will be under a national spotlight. It begins now - with road closures.

The X Games start on Friday but the road closures start on Wednesday at 6:00 a.m.

The closures include:

  • 15th Street from River St. to Grove St. Westbound traffic will be able to continue through on River Street to Americana Boulevard.
  • 16th Street from Front St. to River St. Southbound traffic on 16th St. will be able to turn right on Front St.

The attendance is expected to be about 4,000 people at any given time. This is a qualifying event that will only allow few to continue on to the finals.

The competitors will be skateboarding and BMX.
