We've been asked to share more of ourselves, so here goes. I think people who have cancer shouldn't have to pay anything more than what their insurance covers.

Cancer treatments cost too much, people lose everything or have their credit ruined and bill collectors hounding them.

It's not like we have a choice to get cancer or not. I never smoked, did drugs, drank alcohol, worked with cancer causing materials and yet I have to deal with a cancer that will never be cured. I will have to fight the cancer battle as long as I can and that means more bills even with really good insurance, which is more expensive than it was before the Affordable Care Act.

We have awareness this and that, well let's have some awareness about what you are going to go through if you have to deal with cancer.  It's not enough you still have to go through daily life, a job, bills, trying to make ends meet, add on top of that, hurting, being sick from either the cancer or the treatment or both. Then heaven forbid you should show some weakness at work, in this day and age you'll get fired.

Then you get a call from a bill collector. Great, just what you need and they demand payment right then and there.  If you can't, they hound you, destroy your credit and make life even more miserable.  Sorry, but the ones I've talked to haven't been real caring.  I'm just kind of tired of all this and that going to people who come here either legally or illegally, while those of us who are here are ignored.

What do you think?  Share your stories, maybe we can start a movement.
