Whether it was in a college classroom, on the track or in an office the one thing I've always done is work incredibly hard for something I wanted and not let up until the job was done.

It could just be me, but it seems like in this day and age that value seems lost which is why this week, I wanted to share this quote with you as my Motivation Monday for October 16th.

"The dream is free. The hustle is sold separately." -Unknown

Big dreams and the people behind them are absolutely beautiful, but how much are you willing to sacrifice to achieve the dream?  Too often, I see people who have these big dreams act like they are entitled to the end result without putting in the effort to reach them.  These are the people that as soon as they see their time clock hit eight hours, check out for the day.  They're the ones who refuse to cancel their personal plans to put an few extra hours to get a step closer to the ultimate goal.  You want to cheer people with big ideas on, but its hard to do when you don't see them putting in the hustle.

I think that's why my relationship with running is so special.  Running is the absolute greatest metaphor for life because you get out of it what you put into it.  Without putting in the miles, the strength training, the proper nutrition, etc...its very difficult to reach your end game, whether its running your fastest 5K or finishing a marathon.  Doing those things aren't fun, but they're necessary to achieve the dream.

This week, dream big but stay hungry. Don't let visions of what the end game lookslike cloud your mind and keep you from working hard.
