Jeff’s Review Of Owyhee Tavern In Downtown Boise

There is so much growth in Downtown Boise right now with new hotels, businesses, and restaurants.  This weekend, I had the chance to try Owyhee Tavern and here's my take.

It's awesome.

The Owyhee Tavern has opened at 1109 Main St. downtown, serving amazing lunch and dinners of prime grade steaks, fresh seafood (including oysters), and a great cocktail and wine list.

The room is awesome, the bar at the corner and the dining room elevated above street level, with natural light coming in the windows and a soft lighting treatment around tables.  It's sleek, modern, and feels classic while being new.

The most important part though, the food, was amazing.  Truly great flavors from my salad, to the prime rib I selected (a really nice smokey flavor), mashed potatoes and even steamed vegetables.  My wine was a perfect pairing too, and the cost was reasonable for the quality.

The service was great and I even sampled some of their amazing deserts.  They even feature a made-to-order cobbler that I know a few people would love.

They aren't paying to say this in any way, but I am a fan and really excited too add Owyhee Tavern to the great places downtown for a date night, to celebrate a great moment, or even just meet friends for drinks and some incredible food.
