Well there's no concealing my spider phobia around the radio station now after my little outburst (see yesterday's blog post:  it involved leaping, shrieking etc.).   The whispers of "is that a spider?!" etc are running rampant today.   And yes, while I'm typing this at my desk I have my feet swaddled in a spider proof barrier (okay, it's just a hand towel - but it gives me confidence to think it may inhibit arachnids) because the area under my desk has now evolved into a dark den where 8 legged poisonous killers lurk...waiting to sink their fangs into my toes.

According to a top researcher I would have been an excellent Cave Mom due to my ability to sense the presence of spiders because: "...bites from poisonous spiders presented a special danger to prehistoric women, whose children would have died or incurred great hardship without their mothers."  So my fear/alertness of spiders has been passed down to me through my ancestors genes.  I will continue to honor that gift by taking proper precautions and freaking out whenever I encounter one of the creepy crawlies so that my hubby can honor the "kill the threat to the cave" genes passed down to him from his ancestors.

I always say "Knowledge is Power!"  Today I proved it to myself because I used to think my arachnophobia was a weakness when in fact it is a strength that I attribute and am thankful to my Great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, really, really great grandmother!
