This just in -- Boise is one of the best places in the country for summer jobs, ranking ahead of cities like Denver, Atlanta, and Seattle.

Great news if you're looking for a short-term gig right now.  Why do we rank so high?

Boise ranks 9th on WalletHub's list of the 2016 Best Cities for Summer Jobs, and the only other cities in the western half of the US to crack the Top Ten were Scottsdale, AZ; Reno, NV, and San Francisco.

Washington, DC is the best city for summer jobs, according to the study, likely because of the of all of the opportunities in political offices.  And they're got the usual parks and pools to staff too.

To come up with the rankings, Wallethub looked at things like the number of jobs available, how much they pay, and whether health benefits are included.  Boise is a great place to be for 16 to 24-year olds, and ranked high in the Youth-Outdoor job market.   The social environment and affordability factors also helped shoot us right to the top.

Boise needs everything from lifeguards to workers at the Boise National Forest, to seasonal maintenance workers with the City of Boise.  And apparently the pay is pretty good!
