When it comes to the Women's Downhill ski event, Lindsey Vonn is not just one of the best know names on Team USA but in the world. There's a Victor native hoping to spoil her redemption tour.

Vonn's PyeongChang campaign got off to a rough start in the women's Super-G.  She had the misfortune of being the first woman to ski down the course.  With no training runs for that event, that meant that she didn't have anu intel on what to expect.  She had a strong start, but a mistake at the end of the run cost her valuable time.  She finished 6th, +0.38 seconds behind gold medalist Ester Ledecka of the Czech Republic. Visually frustrated, Vonn said she had no regrets about the run and was looking forward to her best event, the Downhill.

Vonn's on a redemption tour after missing the 2014 Sochi games because of a knee injury. Her last Olympic competition happened at the 2010 Vancouver games where she took home bronze in the Super-G and Gold in the Downhill. In a tweet, she said this will probably be her last Olympic downhill race and that she'll give everything she has to get the gold medal.

But one of her American teammates could be standing in the way.  Victor, Idaho's Breezy Johnson is back to compete in the Downhill. Johnson will be the 8th skier down the hill (Vonn will start 7th.) According to the Seattle Times, she's is coming off back-to-back Top 10 World Cup downhill finishes. The 22-year old has a reputation of being absolutely fearless and could surprise everyone in the Downhill finals on Tuesday night.

Johnson also competed in the Super-G against Vonn, finishing 14th.  She goes for gold in primetime tonight on NBC.  The Downhill race falls during their main coverage and will begin at 7 p.m. MT.
