It's rare, but severe ski and snowboard injuries can happen.  Unfortunately, for an Idaho family, that was the case with their 14 year-old daughter this weekend.

Taylor Biggs of Twin Falls died yesterday after a ski crash on Saturday at the Soldier Mountain Ski Resort.

This is a sobering and heart-breaking reminder that our winter sports do bring risks with them.  Biggs WAS wearing a helmet, but the severity of her crash were more than she could overcome.

It's hard to imagine and sometimes easy to forget that we have to take precautions, especially with all the incredible outdoor opportunities we have in Idaho.  Our condolences are with her family, friends, and community.
