Idaho is Buying More Liquor, but What is Our Favorite Type?

Summer means backyard grilling, parties, and meeting friends for some drinks on the patio.  We're purchasing more liquor across our state, and our favorite might surprise you. 

The Idaho Statesman reported that across our Gem State, we've purchased more liquor this past fiscal year than ever before.

Sales were at $203.4 million for 2017 which was up 6.5% year-to-year. The Idaho State Liquor Division does explain that population growth is the likely driving force for the sales increase, more than our consumption.  The most growth was found in the Treasure Valley, as Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and our other cities showed growth just under 10%.

So, what are our favorite drinks?  Vodka, by category, is the most popular here in Idaho and also across the country.  If you look at our most popular liquor options by ounces sold, our list looks a little different.
