It seems like every new survey released shows that more and more people are choosing to make Idaho home.  That continues to be the case with new census data that has recently been released.

Idaho's Hispanic population continues to outpace the national growth level, up by 3.3% between the 2015 and 2016 census numbers.  That also outpaces the general population growth rate of the state which was 2.9%.

The U.S. Census Bureau reported that the Hispanic population has grown 18% in the Gem State since 2010, and represents the second largest ethnic group in Idaho.  The largest growth areas were in Canyon, Ada, Twin Falls, and Bonneville counties.

There was growth in other race categories as well, including black, Asian, and American Indian/Native groups.  There was also growth in the number of white residents of Idaho, though the percentage growth was the lowest.
