When I go to work out at Axiom, I take the Meridian exit off I-84.  When you take either off-ramp to get to Meridian road, take notice that you can no longer turn right on red. For the last 18 years that I've been here, you could make that turn on red, but no more, and that's throwing drivers.

When I go to the gym, it's 3/4 workout and 1/4 catching up with friends.  Well, one friend got a $500 ticket for blowing that light.  He admits he probably would have gotten off with a warning, if he hadn't been such an ###.  He was in a hurry to get to his workout, the light had just changed when he got to it, so he did the tap and go.  What he didn't pay attention to was the officer right behind him.

He pulled over on the road going into Axiom thinking "what did I do?"  The officer did the usual, asked for his info and then informed him that he had turned right on the red light at the end of the ramp and that is was illegal.  Now here's why the guy ended up getting the pricey ticket.  He argued with the officer, bad move. By the time he was done the officer had written my buddy for failure to stop at a red light, turning without a signal, and inattentive driving.  He is going to at least go to the court and see if he can get the ticket reduced, but he did learn his lesson and will be nice to the officers no matter how mad he is.

Watch the new exit ramps at Meridian road, we've been able to turn right on that red, but can't anymore.
