We're still bopping to the easy-breezy confection that is Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me," and now there's a new E.MO.TION track to fall in love with.

"Warm Blood" turns down the lights and jacks up the synth— instead of the breathless, fizzy energy of "I Really Like You" and "Run Away With Me," this is Carly's invitation to the dance floor. If the mid-tempo electro beat didn't tip you off, the image of a disco ball stewing in mercury (and...blood?) definitely sends the message. We also get to hear what Carly's sugary voice sounds like pitched way down, and it's a treat.

"I can't control it anymore, I would throw in the towel for you, boy / Cause you lift me up and catch me when I'm fallin' for you," Jepsen breathes on the chorus, as the bass stomps back in. It's new sonic territory for the singer, and the song's deft execution only ramps up the anticipation for E.MO.TION's August 21 release.

"Warm Blood" was produced and co-written by Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmangli. Carly told us back in June that the track is one of her very favorites on the upcoming album, and she loved the somewhat unexpected results of their team-up: "It’s kind of a really strange combination, but it worked really well. I could see myself wanting to work with him more in the future.” With results like this, we're inclined to agree.
