Friday June 30, 2017 is the 30th anniversary of the gruesome murder of Preston Murr, a 21-year-old man living at the home just off Broadway.

Some say Murr's ghost still haunts the house.  It's located just off Broadway Avenue and here's what happened.  Neighbors woke up to a trail of blood splattered all over the porch, sidewalk, and front door.  The blood was traced to the basement where Preston Murr was shot and chopped up into 13 pieces.

A week later part of his body was found 100 miles away in the Brownlee Reservoir.  Murr was only 21 and is now believed to be haunting the residence.

The story is that Murr was at home with two friends Daniel Rogers and Daron Cox.  The men had an argument and Murr was shot in the shoulder.  He ran to the neighbor's house pounding on the front door, dripping blood everywhere.  A neighbor called 911 and saw a man being dragged back into Murr's home.

Murr was forced into the basement and shot in the head by Daniel Rogers.  Daron Cox helped Rogers in the dismemberment of Murr's body.

The stories and facts created a local urban legend and the residence is now commonly known as The Murder House.
