It's not every weekend that we can get 40 ounces of beer and 40 ounces of bacon in one spot!  They're planning a bacon cook-off and a whole lot of fun this weekend at Park Terrace in Boise.

If bacon and beer are on your list of favorite things, this will be the peak weekend of your summer.

At the 3rd annual Boise Bacon and Beer Benefit on Saturday, Sockeye Brewing is invitingTreasure Valley restaurants to compete in a bacon-inspired cook-off, and the only rule is that they have to use bacon as the central ingredient. Cheesy bacon, chocolate bacon, biscuits with bacon...anything goes as long as bacon is the star of the show.  Kind of like any old Saturday at some of our houses, but this will be out in public and other people can eat some.

Anyone with tickets to the event on Saturday can eat over 40 ounces of the bacon-inspired creations while drinking craft beer from 20 different breweries.  The winner of the bacon cook-off earns bragging rights as the most 'bacon-y' restaurant in town, according to Sockeye.

They're planning to have games and commemorative glasses for ticket holders, and because Boise is awesome, the proceeds will all go to nonprofits.  Community Outreach Behavioral Services and Create Common Good will benefit.

Tickets are $35 to $40 and you can get them HERE.  It's 21 and up.

Saturday, Aug. 25, 1-5 p.m.
3380 W. Americana Terrace (near Ann Morrison Park)

We might get some ideas for bacon-centered snacks for our football parties this fall.  And if not, well it'll just be good.  Bacon, beer, and Boise.  Three good things!
