While your friends in other parts of the country are freaking out about the weather, things are actually pretty mild here in the Treasure Valley.

If you've got friends in New England, they're getting hammered with snow and ice from what's being called a "bomb cyclone." My family in the Mid-West hasn't experienced a day over 20º  since Christmas Day and the wind chills have been as low as -15º.

But here in the Treasure Valley? Highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s for the next couple of days seem downright balmy when you consider 6.5" of snow fell in the Treasure Valley on a single day this time last year. While most of would agree that it's nice to not be experiencing #Snowmageddon 2.0, the mild weather hasn't been awesome for Bogus Basin.

In fact, they announced that they'll have to scale back the number of lifts and trails open until more snow falls. This weekend, only Deerpoint, Pine Creek and Coach chairlifts will be open, as well as the conveyor lifts taking to the beginner slope or terrain park. There's a limited number of groomed trails available so skiers are encouraged to be cautious since there's a pretty fair amount of unmarked obstacles.

But here's the good news! Because they've had to scale back, Bogus is discounting all day, adult lift passes to just $39 for now.  The Pepsi Gold Rush Tubing Hill and Glade Runner mountain coaster are fully operational this weekend! So take advantage of the discount and head up the mountain for some fun in the snow!
