For the last two years, my kiddo had this bunk bed set up in his room.  This weekend, the move to a new "big bed" was completed, and it struck me how quickly time is passing by.

When I moved into my place after my son's mom and I divorced, I bought the bunk bed to match the one he had at our house together.  We had agreed it would help him to have rooms that were as closely matched as possible.  He ended up with an upgraded bed at his mom's, but he had wanted to keep the bunk at our house.

As he has grown up, the bunk was becoming a little too small.  On a trip to Utah a little over a year ago, I found a great new bed at Ikea.  I purchased it and kept the boxes ready in the garage for the time to come.

A couple weeks ago, we determined the time was wright, and the disassembly and new bed assembly commenced.  The most important thing to my kiddo was that we ensure he had a new Privacy Pop to go with his new bed (as the bed tent has become an important feature).

He was at his mom's this weekend, but when he gets back to our place Wednesday, his new bed - and yes, Privacy Pop - will be ready for him.

It was strange since I knew it was coming, had been planning for it, but it felt like time is just going by so quickly.  Moving him to the "big bed" really drives that home again.
