A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Susan

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. Our sixth wish went to Susan, who's family has all the reason in the world to not be in the holiday spirit.

For Tanya's friend Susan, the holidays haven't been the most merry time of the year.  In 2017, they lost their eight year old Rottweiler just a few weeks before the Christmas. Susan and her husband already had five human children, but their dog was truly like their sixth child.  Not having him around to open gifts with the kids on Christmas morning dulled their holiday spirit a bit last year.

2018 brought more loss around the holidays for this tight knit family.  Susan's husband had been battling brain cancer for 14 months, but it became more aggressive in the weeks leading up to November.  He passed away shortly before Thanksgiving.  Now a single mom, Susan's trying to put together a special Christmas for her children despite funeral expenses cutting into the family's income.

After two holiday seasons of incredible loss, Tanya wanted Susan and her family to build happy memories together this season so LITE-FM came to help make the holidays a little brighter! Jeff Connell piled into our Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh and surprised Susan with a family pass for Winter Garden aGlow, Wahooz and Pinz and movie tickets for a family movie night.  We also wanted to make sure that she a night off from cooking for the family of six, so Smokey Mountain Pizzeria Grill kicked in dinner! Finally, because money is tight this year, we wanted to make sure she could get a small gift for each of the kids so we kicked in a Walmart gift card as well.
