LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. Our ninth wish for Sean was brought to attention by a special out of state Christmas Wish elf!

We'll give Ricky a pass for letting everyone in the Treasure Valley know that it was a nice, comfy 55º in Texas while we were on the phone with him because he's the best friend you could ever ask for.  Even though he's from out of state, Ricky was familiar with Christmas Wish and reached out to tell us about his friend Sean's family.  The two guys met when they were in high school.  Ricky was a freshman and Sean was a senior. Meeting Sean completely changed Ricky's perspective on people living with disabilities.  He assumed that people with disabilities like Sean would be extremely limited in the things they could accomplish in life and was blown away by how untrue that was.  Ricky admires the way that Sean thinks and the things he's constantly doing in spite of his illness. The two of the became extremely close and formed a brother like friendship.  Sean's taught Ricky countless life lessons, including how to shave.

Our special elf had a role in introducing Sean to his wife, Erica and watch the whole love story unfold in front of him.  The couple now has four kids and relocated to Idaho.  Ricky visits as often as he can to help Sean and Erica with as many things as he can whether it's working on Sean's truck or chasing down the kids as "Uncle Ricky."

It's been hard for him to watch some of the family's latest struggles from a distance.  Sean's disease has been progressing.  He's now on a breathing machine and is recovering from a surgery.  They've also had mechanical problems with the family truck, a furnace system that gave out in October and an oven that caught fire just before Thanksgiving.  On top of Sean's medical expenses, replacing those things drained the little money they had left over for Christmas.  Erica was close to telling the boys that Santa wouldn't be able to visit them this year and was absolutely crushed.

We couldn't let those sweet kids think that Santa forgot about them this year so Jeff Connell piled into our Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh and Sean with a $250 Walmart Gift Card to get all four kiddos gifts, family passes for Winter Garden aGlow and Ultimate VIP passes for some family fun at Wahooz & Pinz and dinner for their first visit to Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill!
