A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Russell

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. On Miracle Marathon Day we hoped we could cheer Russell up after a death in the family. 

We could all learn a lesson from Janet.  When Janet's ex-husband started dating Mary, instead of being catty or rude to her, Janet became good friends with her and was there for the wedding.  Together she, Mary and Russell raised Janet's daughter together.  Mary and Russell eventually welcomed two children of their own as well.

Mary always brightened people's day while she was on the job at Walmart and Subway, so many people didn't recognize that she was battling some inner demons.  When she started losing weight quickly, it was because she was in a battle with bulimia.  Unfortunately, she passed away a few weeks ago from complications due to her eating disordered. The whole family is heartbroken. Mary's eight year-old son lives with autism and is struggling to express his emotions after his mom's death.

In the wake of everything, Russell hasn't really had time to try to put together a Christmas for his kids and Janet didn't want to see the kids go without so she reached out to us for a Christmas Wish for him.

That's why we piled Jeff Connell into the Team Subaru of Nampa Forester delivery sleigh and sent him to surprise Russell with Kohl's, Old Navy and Winco Gift cards to help make Christmas a reality. We also left meals from Smokey Mountain Pizzeria Grill and Papa Murphy's that the family can enjoy after the family night we set up at the movies.  We were also able to grab an assortment of gifts for the kids.
