LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. Our 15th wish went to a mom who's the actual definition of a superhero.

Erika was downright giddy to introduce us to her friend Kayla this morning. She's been Kayla's friends and has watched her family grow over the years.  She has two children of her own, two step kids and recently took in her younger brother and sister.  Kayla's heart was broken to find out that they were in an abusive home and even through she hadn't planned out exactly how to provide for them on top of the children already under her rook, she knew in her heart that she needed to provide a safe home for them.

Unfortunately, Kayla's experiencing job loss this holiday season because her priorities at home became overwhelming and more important that what was happening at work.  She's tried to keep a smile on her face, telling friends and family that life won't throw something at her that she's not quipped to handle, but Erika knows that the family's feeling a financial strain right now.  They also found out earlier this week that they needed to move by 4 p.m. on the day we visited them. The huge family is downsizing to a smaller home.

Erika's worried that because the family is struggling that Santa might not be "able to find them" this Christmas and for all Kayla's done for her over the years, she just couldn't let that happen.

That's where we stepped in and loaded up Jeff Connell into the Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh to drop off a "moving day" surprise.  We brought Kayla and her boyfriend, Cliff, $200 to buy gifts for the kids, a gas card for while she's playing mom taxi and a certificate for a meal provided by Smokey Mountain Pizzeria Grill.  We wanted to keep the family's in the holiday spirit, so we made sure they had some events for them to look forward too including the Winter Garden aGlow lights, Wahooz/Pinz NYE Party and the upcoming Canyon County Kids Expo!
