A LITE-FM Christmas Wish for Doris

LITE-FM's Christmas Wish is back, thanks to our friends at Pioneer Federal Credit Union. On Miracle Marathon Day, we surprised Doris on her way to work.

We feel a little bad about making Doris late for her last day of school before Christmas break, but we think the surprise was worth it! One of her fellow teachers, Amy, reached out to us and told us that her friend had a vulnerable moment not too long ago. During that moment, Doris opened up that the family was facing extensive medical bills and both her and her husband's wages are being garnished to cover them.  She was worried that there wouldn't be enough money left over to provide the Christmas that her adorable 10 year-old son deserves.

Despite her challenges at home, Doris still gives 110% to her students everyday and is a tremendously positive influence in their lives.  Amy wanted to make an impact on hers and we were happy to help!

Jeff Connell got in the Team Subaru of Nampa Forester Delivery Sleigh and delivered a gift card for gifts, an Old Navy gift card to get Tommy some new outfits, a Maurice's gift card for Doris to get her own new outfits, some meals from Smokey Mountain Pizzeria Grill and Papa Murphy's.  Finally, we wanted them to have a fun Christmas experience that didn't take money out of their pockets, so we're sending the family to Winter Garden aGlow.
