The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is likely one of the most talked about campaigns to date. The association is receiving more attention than they ever have and everyone seems to be taking part. Yesterday, I got a unique perspective on the challenge from someone suffering from ALS.

I have a friend from high school who shared a picture of her mother holding my friend's newborn baby. The message below the photo said this: Some of you know that my mom has ALS. As she nears the end of her journey it has been very inspirational to see how many are participating in the ice bucket challenge!!! One day I hope that there will be a treatment or even a cure for this devastating disease. Keep up the good work and say a pray for my mom who is in her final weeks.

This viral phenomenon is changing lives through donations and emotional support.

Have you done the #ALSIceBucketChallenge?

Here are a few creative ways others have followed through on their challenge.

Remember the movie "Carrie"?

How about taking the challenge EIGHT times in a row?

And then there's Zac Efron. Enough said.
